A physical posture is not as important as our spiritual attitude but kneeling

in prayer is an act of expression of respect.  To kneel before the Lord is an

act of recognition of our submission and respect to Him.  We could say that

any position during prayer is acceptable if the prayer is offered with a

humble heart, but we might suggest that kneeling is the standard position

for prayer.  Kneeling should never be a ritual but yet a reflection of our

love for God.

1 Kings 8:54
